"The real Tangoclub atmosphere"
Bio and occupation
Sexteto Milonguero, is no stranger to the Netherlands. They usually visit concert halls where the audience has to sit still and listen. During the Dutch Tangoweek we present them in a Tangoclub setting. You can dance with them, but you certainly don't have to. In 2 sets of 45 minutes they turn the hall upside down with well-known classics that never sounded like this evening before.
The Sexteto Milonguero was founded in 2006 by Javier Di Ciriaco with the desire to bring a danceable repertoire, as is often heard in the milongas (dance evenings) of Buenos Aires. The sextet takes you to the neighborhood milongas of Buenos Aires in the 40s. Where the famous orchestras of yesteryear played their music live. They play danceable classics and their own compositions. The musicians' views on the music have always been incorporated in their interpretations.
