Update – March 23, 2020
Earlier this evening, in connection with the Corona crisis, the Dutch government decided to ban all events until June 1. Unfortunately, the Dutch International Tangoweek is included in that ban. It means that the festival will not take place as we had planned.
We understand that this raises a lot of questions. The coming days we will spend investigating the possibilities and the consequences. We are sorry we can’t tell you more at this moment.
Over the last few weeks, developments have been so rapid that it has hardly been possible to make plans and find solutions. Now that there’s clarity, we can get to work. We will be happy to keep you informed via email in the coming weeks.

Update – March 13, 2020
In relation to the situation surrounding the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the board of the Dutch Tangoweek Foundation would like to address the responsibility it has for the coming festival and its visitors.
At the time of writing it will take another 3 months before the festival takes place. In these circumstances this is a very long period. At this moment it is not yet possible to oversee how the situation in the Netherlands is developing. At this moment it is too early to make a decision about postponement or cancellation.
That does not alter the fact that the subject is high on our agenda. It goes without saying that the health and safety of our visitors, artists and employees is number 1. We are in direct contact with the relevant government bodies and thus have reliable information on which to base our decisions. We are aware of the measures taken by tango festivals in various countries and see the reaction of tango schools in the Netherlands.
Of course we prepare different scenarios and we can guarantee that in case of cancellation on behalf of the government the already paid ticket fees will be fully refunded. This of course also applies to tickets that have been reserved in the past weeks and in the coming period.
We hope and trust that in the coming period sufficient effect can be achieved in the fight against the virus to allow the festival to continue unaltered. We are looking forward to celebrate the freedom and resilience of the Argentine Tango with all international guests, artists and you during the Pentecost weekend.
We will keep you informed through our newsletter. Are you planning to visit the festival, but you still want to wait to reserve tickets, please subscribe to our newsletter. We use this newsletter to keep you informed of the latest developments.
